In order ensure the highest possible quality of our unrefined shea butter; we oversee the production of our shea butter on all levels. We have made sure that each instrument involved in the process has been inspected and given approval for use. To also ensure the highest possible quality of our unrefined shea butter, we adhere to standard tests performed on unrefined shea butter throughout the world.  

 

While our product is not CERTIFIED organic, each batch is tested by Intertek (the world’s most reputable third-party testing laboratory -- www.intertek.com) to ensure that the product is aflatoxin-free, bio-contaminant free, lead, mercury, and iron free.  Additionally, the product is tested for levels of concentration of key vitamins and sterols.  Some of the tests performed are:

·        Microbiological Analysis

·        Physical Analysis

·        FFA (Free Fatty Acid) Analysis

·        Non-saponifiables Value

·        Contaminants Analysis (Iron and other contaminants)

·        Peroxide Value

·        Vitamin A Value

·        Sterol Profile
